"Vicars of priests and seminary administrators who have been around awhile speak among themselves of the disproportionate number of gay men that populate our seminaries and presbytereates. They know that a proportionate number of gay priests and seminarians would fall between 5 and 10 percent. An NBC report on celibacy and the clergy found that 'anywhere from 20 percent to 58 percent of Catholic clergy have a homosexual orientation. Other studies find that approximately half of American priests and seminarians are homosexually oriented. Sociologist James G. Wolf in his book Gay Priests concluded that 48.5 percent of priests and 55.1 percent of seminarians were gay. The percentage appears to be highest among priests under forty years of age. Moreover, the percentage of gay men among religious congregations of priests is believed to be even higher.

THE GIFT OF SALVATION (GOS)
This is a sequel to ECT in which noted Roman Catholic Theologians and leaders sign a statement with Evangelical leaders stating that they are in agreement that salvation is received by grace through faith (referring to Ephesians 2:8). The misleading part of this document is the definition of grace. To the Evangelicals, grace is God's unmerited favor. To the Roman Catholic theologians, grace is imparted by the sacraments ("outward signs instituted by Christ to give grace".) Since these sacraments can only be received by an active member of the Church of Rome, there is still no salvation for those outside the Church of Rome in keeping with their doctrine of Extra Ecclesium Nulla Salus. Many Evangelicals are reading this statement and believe that the Church of Rome is changing. According to Roman Catholic theologians, the Roman Catholic Church is "semper eadum", always the same.

The Cursillo Movements

Rev 3:20-22 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” In this Scripture we see Jesus, outside of the apostate Church of Laodicea, making an appeal to the people, not the leadership. Jesus loves these people and is offering them salvation. I believe that two moves of the Holy Spirit in our time fulfilled this appeal of Jesus to believers hopelessly bound to dead or apostate churches. The Cursillo Movement and the Charismatic Renewal reached into the hearts of church members in mainline Protestant Churches and the Roman Catholic Church and saved many. His offer to those church people, then and now, is “And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” John 6:35-36
