We are also exhorted to forgive others:
Matt 6:14-15 "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
and again in case we weren't paying attention:
MATT 18:21-35
21 "Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses."
We are to forgive others whether they deserve it or not since Our Lord forgives us, who deserve it not! If any of you encounter a "born-again" Christian believer who is judging you, not teachings or deeds, you have probably encountered some of the tares, not the wheat, spoken of by Jesus in Matthew 13:24-30 "Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn."
Some of the articles that you are reading on this web site are judgmental, not of individuals, but of the teachings of those
theologians and teachers who teach about Jesus Christ or who teach in the name of Jesus Christ. Born-again believers are authorized by the Word of God to judge these teachings:
Some of the articles that appear on this site might be difficult for some people to receive. These articles are written
to or about the teachings or traditions of men who have taught about Jesus Christ or who have taught in the name of Jesus Christ.
These articles are not intended for the church members of these men or individuals living under their teachings. They are meant to address teachings, not individuals, although certain theologians and teachers must be identified by name for purposes of proper documentation.
While I refuse to judge any man or woman (since I am commanded not to and because I don't need the added work burden), I do judge those who teach the Word of God or who teach about the Word of God in a very direct and decidedly blunt manner.
The Christian discipline that serves the Body of Christ by contending for the faith is called Apologetics (from the Greek word "apologia" meaning to "give a defense"
It is my prayer that every reader of the pages on this site understand the purpose for my writings regarding the apostasy in the Christian Church
and the spirit with which I have written these things:
That no false teaching deprive you or hinder you from the truth of the Gospel and the promise of eternal life that Jesus has extended to all who would receive Him. (John 1:12, John 3:3, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9))
The only individual that I am authorized to judge is myself. I am authorized to judge the teachings of men regarding our Lord Jesus Christ, and you can be sure that I intend to do that job to my utmost.
